I'm pretty sure that it is actually illegal in the low-country of South Carolina. They just aren't made all that well.Yes, we've had to buy a couple because someone forgot to turn off the heat dry on the dishwasher (I seriously cannot be the only person who ignore "do not use in dishwasher), I consider those ones my fault.
You can almost buy a new machine with new pitcher for the price of a replacement, so it's a bit of letdown when we have to shell out money for a new pitcher.Overall, it does the job, it fits the machine and all that. but, I wish they were made better.
First, don't tell my mother that I'm even using an iced tea maker. We've gone through several, average one new every year, because they break along the seam or they shatter if you drop them and they hit wrong.
I just wish they'd upgrade the design already. She might disown me.
But, I'm lazy and tired of my pots getting tea stains, so I use a tea maker. The problem is the replacement pitchers.
Spout will crack with limited use, per other users. Need the "big" (3q)size (and like to be able to "hold" the hot water in the tea leaf holder to increase brew strength.which you can do with this design, as with the 2Q), so ordered a replacement.but, 10 mos of gentle use is not enough. Cant tell if this replacement pitcher is a different material or not.if I get motivated, may write the company (I have the 2qt version and it has lasted for years without cracking).
I've used my Mr. Thank heavens for Amazon.com that carries both sets and replacement pitchers as well. I only make it with water, not ice. Everyone I know now has this set and makes their tea this way.
That is how much we all use and enjoy this product. When my family and friends come to my home, they ask if I have any tea made. I also use about a cup of splenda per pitcher and keep 2 pitchers as one basket of tea (1/2 to 3/4 cup of tea) will make 2 pitchers of tea. The tea is wonderful but you have to have something to make it in and the 3 quart Mr. I have a poster I made up to give to my friends and family that I call Aunt Beckie's Tea Instructions. Coffee 3 quart ice tea maker so much that I wore out the first two pitchers.
Usually I do, being a Southerner, but if I don't they are always dissappointed. Coffee system works for me. I use speciality tea I purchase at Teavana which can be found online. The 3 quart set is hard to find, I only see the 2 quart set in the stores.
I have always loved this tea maker and have used it for 15 years or so. This time, I was able to find just the pitcher online, so I purchased 2. I am really glad that you can just by the pitcher. In the past, I wasn't able to and had to buy the whole unit when the pitcher broke.
Needed a replacement and this was the best price around. Super fast shipping by the seller.
